We will all miss you...

Similar to Megan, most of my memories of grandmother are from Christmas time and Lake Junaluska. When I think about all my memories of grandmother, most of them bring back memories of being with all my cousins and aunts and uncles. I think that is the greatest gift of all is that she brought together the entire family. It's because of her that we all play tennis, cards, and all enjoying spending quality time together.

Most of my memories of grandmother involve the entire family, but my favorite memory of grandmother involved just the 2 of us. It was around 1987, when I was 7 years old. My father was at a conference in Orlando and I was staying with grandmother. She took me to Disney, just the 2 of us, so that we could have lunch together in Cinderella's Castle. I still remember sitting there in awe as Cinderella herself came over to our table to say hello.

One of my other memories of grandmother was her love of Jeopardy, going to bed early, and always being on time. I was staying alone with grandmother when I was around 17 at Westminster towers, we enjoyed a quiet dinner together and sat down to watch Jeopardy. Soon after Jeopardy finished, Grandmother decided to go to bed. (for those of you that don't remember Jeopardy ends around 7:30pm). I stayed up entertaining myself, but finally went to bed around 10pm. In the morning grandmother woke me up and said "Boy you really slept in!" (It was 7am) I then started to get ready to go to morning Devotions with grandmother, she was concerned that I would not have time to wash and dry my hair before Devotions started, but I assured her that I would be ready on time. I was dressed, showered, and ready to go by 8:30am, at which point grandmother announced "Great, we're all already.... and Devotions starts at 10am".

My grandmother MacGregor has always had wonderful things to say about Grandmother Rybolt. Recently my Grammy was telling me about a time when she and my Grandpa stayed with Grandmother on North Shine Ave. She raved about how kind, friendly, and welcoming Grandmother was and how much they enjoyed spending time with her.

My last memory to share about grandmother was the Christmas after my mother passed away. She told me how sorry she was that she was not able to travel to the funeral. She also told me how great a person my mother was and how much she would be missed. The last thing she added was that she believed my mom was the best thing that ever happened to Billy.

We'll miss you Grandmother.
Love, Sara
